Wolumla Fire Cabin Project 2025

Acora recently completed a Fire Cabin project for the Forestry Corporation of NSW. After an internal assessment by Forestry it found the existing Fire Cabin on Wolumla Peak was to be decommissioned. An urgent re-build was required to ensure Bush Fire Safety in the area was not compromised. Wolumla Peak Fire Tower (778m/2 552ft a.s.l.) is on a mountain in the Great Dividing Range in the Bega Valley Shire, Australia

Acora was tasked with the project in January 2025 and completed the installation early April 2025. With specific requirements needed to comply with Bush Fire Ratings Acora delivered a product that included:

  • X Flam wall panels
  • Aluminium cover sheeting and doors
  • Cyclone proof window shutters
  • Hot Dipped galvanized framework & Painted
  • Toughened Glass Windows
  • Removal of existing Fire Cabin & disposal
  • Removal & Installation of existing solar panels
  • Removal & installation of Lightning strike rods
  • Transportation to site
  • Installation of new Fire Cabin.

As Acora is normally involved in installations remote from home, (we are currently doing projects in Neerabup WA and Invercargill, NZ,) we took great pride and interest in being involved in an important local project and our complete team worked hard to ensure we produced this show piece.
